“The clothes need to be worn to exist. It doesn’t mean that they do not suit the museums, on the contrary!”

Etienne Tordoir attended his first menswear show in 1990. It was Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Spring/Summer 1990 collection, and it was presented in Paris, at the Musée de l’Homme. The Musée de l’Homme is an anthropology museum in Paris, France, established in 1937 by Paul Rivet for the 1937 Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne – the choice of the location is very interesting, as it ties in museum and interest on men and their custom together with fashion and the meaning it has in contemporary culture.
