Giorgio Armani opens ARMANI/Archivio, sharing decades of creativity to inspire, educate, and celebrate fashion heritage

Fashion reflects culture, creativity, and history. Every garment, sketch, and accessory tells a story about the time it was created, the vision of its designer, and the society that embraced it. At EFHA, we work to preserve this heritage and make it accessible to anyone interested in understanding the artistry and development of fashion.

In line with the idea that heritage is of pivotal importance for the present and the future, Giorgio Armani recently unveiled Armani/Archivio (archivio.armani.com), a public digital platform documenting the late stilista’s work from his earliest designs to his recent creations. The collection shows the evolution of his style, from the clean lines and understated elegance of his suits to the experimental approaches he introduced in both menswear and womenswear.

EFHA has had ties with Armani for years. Armani/Silos, the Milan museum dedicated to the designer, opened its collection to EFHA and Europeana, allowing broader access to its archives and reinforcing the importance of sharing fashion heritage. The recent launch of Armani/Archivio further shows the brand’s commitment to education and to using fashion as a tool to inspire, inform, and communicate. It makes the archive accessible to anyone who wants to explore the creative process behind one of fashion’s most influential names.

Armani/Archivio provides insight into the creative process and the cultural context in which fashion evolves. Each garment and sketch opens a window into the world of Giorgio Armani, illustrating how tradition and innovation continue to shape contemporary style. The platform will refresh its content every six months with special curations, offering perspectives on more than 50 years of creativity. The digital archive, a unicum amongst corporate archives, allows everyone to engage with the stories that define the history of fashion while highlighting the role of Giorgio Armani in inspiring, educating, and communicating through his work.
